Serious risks
Pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, kidney injury from dehydration, worsening diabetic retinopathy, low blood sugar (especially with insulin or sulfonylureas), increased heart rate, and serious allergic reactions.
Do not use if
You are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, or you have had a serious allergic reaction to semaglutide.

Pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, kidney or liver disease, diabetes and its treatments, diabetic eye disease, depression or suicidal thoughts, and every medication you take.

Wegovy® HD is a higher-dose 7.2 mg formulation of the same semaglutide medication. It is not a starting dose. It is reserved for eligible adults with obesity who have tolerated the standard 2.4 mg maintenance dose for at least 4 weeks and, in their provider's judgment, may benefit from additional weight loss. In the STEP UP trial, patients on 7.2 mg lost an average of 20.7% of body weight at 72 weeks alongside diet and exercise.
